Pandora - a Greek Goddess

In Greek mythology, Pandora was the first woman, apparently created jointly by each of the then male gods by giving her unique gifts including jewelry. Some of the gifts from the gods were good and some were evil, hence the myth of Pandoras Box (which was actually a jar or urn), when curiosity got the better of her and she took the lid off the jar all but one of the gifts from the gods escaped, including the evil ones such as pestilence. Only one gift remained in the jar, the gift of "hope".

The name Pandora translates to "all-giving".

Images and statues of Pandora vary greatly however in common was that she was beautiful and in many adorned with jewelry, so not surprisingly the name Pandora is associated with beautiful jewellery
